Where to eat in Cannes - from Forville to La Croisette

Morning: Forville before everyone else

Visiting Cannes begins at Forville market. Covered, colorful, and deeply rooted in the neighborhood's daily life for decades, it opens early and empties quickly – all the more reason to visit before doing anything else. Herbs de Provence, seasonal vegetables, cheeses, Mediterranean fish: the market sets the tone for the day and often for the evening meal. It's also where many local restaurants source their ingredients, starting with Aux Bons Enfants, whose kitchens are just a few meters away.

Lunch in Cannes: the neighborhood on your plate

At lunchtime, dining in Cannes takes on many forms depending on your mood and chosen direction.

Aux Bons Enfants - On Rue Meynadier, at the foot of Le Suquet, this family restaurant has been around since 1935 and hasn't tried to change. Four generations of the Giorsetti family, generous Provençal cuisine built around products from the Forville market, an unpretentious dining room, and service that doesn't watch the clock. Gault & Millau and Michelin have visited, but you won't feel it in the bill. A true institution, in every sense of the word.

La Cantine Provençale - Provençal elegance with a more contemporary twist: refined decor, relaxed atmosphere, cuisine rooted in Southern traditions but presented with care. An address for those who want substance without sacrificing style.

La Bambola - On Square Mérimée, opposite the Palais des Festivals, this Mediterranean restaurant has forged its own distinct identity: the Dolce Vita spirit of the 60s, an overt nod to Patty Pravo, and cuisine by Chef Alexis Mayroux that plays with flavors from across the Mediterranean. The spot works equally well for lunch or a long evening.

Club Nautico - At the end of the Croisette, on the Palm Beach side, Club Nautico is the kind of place you look for when you want to eat well without overdoing it. With its wood-paneled interior, large sofa, imposing bar, and charming vintage terrace, the atmosphere feels like a holiday home among friends. The menu is Italian-inspired: puccia topped with burrata and marinated artichokes, bresaola and smoked provolone, socca, pissaladière, all paired with carefully selected natural wines.

Dinner: More Discerning Dining

Table 22 by Noël Mantel - Located on Rue Saint-Antoine, this establishment is open only in the evenings. Since 2002, Noël Mantel has championed gourmet cuisine rooted in local produce, complemented by an impressive wine list. The atmosphere is warm without being formal, and tradition is palpable in every dish. This is the perfect spot for evenings when you want the meal to be the highlight of the night.

Sens - In a non-touristy part of Cannes, away from the glitz, Sens operates on a principle as simple as it is demanding: hosting chefs in residence, letting the kitchen evolve with their current obsessions, and never doing the same thing twice. This project by Cassandre Caudan, Jeff Branchu, and Charles Gamon has already welcomed notable names such as Baptiste Trudel, Paulo Santiago, and Numa Muller.

Where to Go Out in Cannes: Our Favorite Wine Bars

Quille - A wine cellar designed as a place for sharing, right in the heart of Cannes. The selection is made with discernment and passion, creating an atmosphere where people come as much to discover as to drink. It's the ideal spot to extend an evening or start a new one.

Volupté - Natural wine bar, refined atmosphere, curated selection. The kind of place where conversation flows effortlessly with each glass.

La Cave - Platters, bottles, dim lighting. An after-dinner spot that makes no grand claims other than being what it is: a good time centered around wine.
